David Rogers, M.D., UAB Chief Wellness Officer, will be presenting proposals for potential employee wellness programs at three upcoming grand rounds. He is also seeking input from faculty across the School of Medicine and will use the feedback that is collected to guide the future of wellness initiatives at UAB Medicine.
The chairs of the three largest departments in the UAB School of Medicine have graciously altered their grand round schedules this spring to allow for these presentations. The chairs have also indicated that all faculty and interested parties are welcome to attend these meetings. The three scheduled presentations are at the following times:
Department of Medicine Grand Rounds on March 28 at noon in the Spain Wallace Auditorium
Department of Surgery Grand Rounds on April 3 at 7:45 a.m. in the Spain Wallace Auditorium
Department of Pediatrics Grand Rounds on April 26 from 12 noon-1 p.m. in the Bradley Conference Center
Dr. Rogers is also making arrangements for a videotaped version of the presentation to be posted online for those who are unable to attend any of these events.
“During the presentation, we’ll spend some time looking at what we’re already doing in regards to organizational stress reduction as well as go over some proposals for moving forward,” said Powell. “What I hope to do is to get people thinking about ways they might be able to improve wellness in their particular areas of UAB Medicine.”
