Detailed Outline of Clinical Cases
It is recommended that the student read and review clinical cases throughout the clerkship to self-assess whether he/she understands the issues involved in various clinical situations. While working through a case, it is suggested that the student consider how the diagnosis or treatment might change if the patient is a different reproductive life stage (e.g. pre-pubertal, reproductive age or post-menopausal), pregnant or seeking a pregnancy.
To assist students in studying for the oral examination, we recommend:
- Problem-based clinical cases adopted from Loma Linda. These are a series of 51 clinical cases that aid in reviewing the scope and breadth of the specialty. Working through the list of Clinical Cases may be more educational than reading the detailed outline of clinical cases. Please use this as a supplement to your study materials for the oral exam.

- Viewing recommended on-line lectures, participating in all case-based student lectures, and attending the oral exam review which are offered during the clerkship rotation.
