Venues, Art, & entertainment
- The city’s musical venues (Oak Mountain Amphitheatre, BJCC, Iron City, etc.) cater to all your preferences, and have hosted artists such as Dave Matthews Band, Eric Church, Phish, Zac Brown Band, Kings of Leon, Eric Clapton and Luke Bryan.
- Birmingham hosts Sloss Fest, an annual summer music festival held in July on the grounds of Sloss Furnances. The 2016 line-up included Death Cab for Cutie, Ryan Adams, Ray Lamontagne and the Flaming Lips.
- Birmingham’s Sidewalk Film Festival is held annually in late August and showcases new and independent films with a special spotlight on Alabama filmmakers.

Outdoors
- The Birmingham Barons opened Regions Field in April 2013, one of the best minor league ballparks in the entire country.
- You can always find something to do outdoors, with Red Mountain Park, Oak Mountain State Park, The Rotary Trail, Ruffner Mountain Nature Preserve, the Vulcan, Cahaba River and Railroad Park.
- You can also visit the Birmingham's Pepper Place Farmer's Market. A popular attraction every Saturday morning starting in the Spring and continuing through fall. Enjoy live music, fresh food, art displays, and more.
