Resident research day 2024 The UAB Department of Otolaryngology hosted its 19th annual Ann B. & Julius N. Hicks Lectureship in Otolaryngology and 2024 Resident Research Day on April 17 at the Hilton Birmingham at UAB.

The annual lecture is open to alumni, faculty, residents, fellows, health care professionals, and otolaryngologists throughout the Southeast.

This year's invited lecturer was Amber Luong, M.D., Ph.D., professor and Vice Chair for Academic Affairs in the Department of Otohinolarynology at McGovern Medical School at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. Luong presented, “Linking Allergic Fungal Rhinosinusitis to Hyper-IgE Syndromes.”

The lecture coincided with the department's 2024 Resident Research Day. Resident Research Day winners for 2024 are as follows:
