American College of Medical Genetics and Genomics Foundation Summer Scholar Program - The purpose of the ACMG Foundation for Genetic and Genomic Medicine Summer Genetics Scholars program is to identify and encourage highly qualified medical students to consider careers in medical genetics by providing hands-on experience of the exciting variety of opportunities—clinical and laboratory medicine, research, and services—available in medical genetics.
The American Parkinson's Disease Association Summer Student Fellowships - APDA and the Parkinson's Disease Foundation (PDF) supports students - from advanced undergraduates to medical students – in their pursuit of Parkinson's-related summer research projects. The goal of the APDA-PDF Summer Student Fellowships is to cultivate students' early interest in helping to solve, treat and end Parkinson's and providing the tools they need to transition into leaders in the field.
American Society for Nephrology: Kidney TREKS (Tutored Research and Education for Kidney Scholars) Program - ASN Kidney TREKS fosters interest in nephrology and research careers through a week-long on site course combined with a long-term mentorship program with a member of their local nephrology division and a trip to the ASN National Meeting – Kidney Week.
Combining Clinical and Research Careers in Neuroscience - invites students who may be candidates for combined research and clinical careers in the neurosciences, i.e., future clinician-scientists, to apply to attend this meeting. The ideal candidate will have completed at least one year of neuroscience research training during medical school and also completed some required clinical clerkships, Both MD/PhD students and MDs with significant research training during medical school (i.e., at least one year) are encouraged to apply. Travel costs and lodging for the meeting will be entirely covered for the students.
Medical Student Enrichment Program (MSEP) provides UAB students, who are in good academic standing, with short-term service and training opportunities in developing countries and underserved areas throughout the world. It is designed to encourage and develop humanitarian attitudes and cross-cultural understanding among UAB students.
