Directions & Transportation
The Lung Health Center is located on the UAB campus at 526 20th Street South. It is easily accessible from Birmingham's major highways. Parking is available in the Maternity Center parking deck. The entrance to this deck is located between 19th and 20th Streets on 6th Avenue South.
From I-65 north:
Exit onto 8th Avenue South (Exit 259), which is also called University Boulevard. Continue straight for seven blocks then turn left on 19th Street. Go two blocks then turn right on 6th Avenue South. The Maternity Center parking deck entrance will be on your left (about halfway down the street) before you reach 20th Street. Please take your parking ticket inside with you for validation.
From I-65 south:
Exit onto 4th Avenue South (Exit 259B). Proceed straight for eight blocks and then turn right on 20th Street. Go two blocks, turning right on 6th Avenue South. The Maternity Center parking deck entrance will be on your right (about halfway down the street) before you reach 19th Street. Please take your parking ticket inside with you for validation.
From I-20/59 south:
Exit onto I-65 south. Exit I-65 onto 4th Avenue South (Exit 259B). Proceed straight for eight blocks and then turn right on 20th Street. Go two blocks, turning right on 6th Avenue South. The Maternity Center parking deck entrance will be on your right (about halfway down the street, before you reach 19th Street. Please take your parking ticket inside with you for validation.
From Highway 280 west:
Exit right onto University Boulevard, which is also called 8th Avenue South. Proceed straight for five blocks and then turn right on 20th Street South. Turn left on 6th Avenue South. The Maternity Center parking deck entrance will be on your right (about halfway down the street) before you reach 19th Street. Please take your parking ticket inside with you for validation.
From Highway 280 east:
