Dr. Lockhart completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Mississippi in Oxford, Mississippi where he received a BA in Chemistry. He earned a Master’s in Public Health in outcomes research to improve his research skills. His academic interests and research have primarily involved vascular ultrasound, MRI, and issues concerning public health. His NIH-sponsored research has focused on pelvic floor MRI as part of the Pelvic Floor Disorders Network. Nationally, he serves as the Chair of the ACR Appropriateness Committee, consisting of over 800 physicians who determine scores for decision support at hospitals across the nation. He is a member of the Executive Board of the Society of Radiologists in Ultrasound and the Ultrasound Certifying Exam Committee of the American Board of Radiology. His editorial service includes editorial board roles in four national journals and Deputy Editor of the Journal of Ultrasound in Medicine.
