Our researchers are continually engaged in novel, groundbreaking, and highly innovative research. They rank among the nation’s best funded and are noted for exceptional mentoring and training — from undergraduate researchers to post-doctoral fellows.We participate in a number of national and international research networks including the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences the American Thoracic Society, and the Society of Toxicology. Our partnerships with Oak Ridge National Laboratory, the Institute for Advanced Composites Manufacturing Innovation, Hills Incorporated, and multiple other production and research organizations have facilitated discovery and development multiple projects focusing on the impact of airborne heavy metals on lung disease and the environment.
