The Division of Gastrointestinal Surgery’s Daniel Chu, M.D., has received the 2018 Association for Academic Surgery/Taiwan Surgical Association International Visiting Professorship Award. Through this award, Chu will receive funding to attend the TSA Annual Meeting in 2019 and serve as host for the TSA visiting professor attending the Academic Surgical Congress in February 2019.

To be eligible for this award, AAS members must be active participants in the organization, must have a record of significant accomplishment within surgical research and must have a current full-time academic appointment. The purpose of this award is to encourage communication and collaboration between members of the AAS and TSA through the exchange of ideas about the clinical, scientific and policy aspects of surgery.
