General surgery research resident Rindi Uhlich, M.D., was recently named the resident representative of the Eastern Association for the Surgery of Trauma’s Multicenter Trials Committee. Uhlich is only the second resident to ever be named to this committee and will serve the committee in this role for three years.

Uhlich’s responsibilities will include reviewing research project proposals and grant submissions for the committee in order to select which will receive the EAST Multicenter Trial designation and which researchers will receive the EAST Multicenter Trial Junior Investigator Award.

EAST is one of the largest national trauma surgery organizations in the United States and seeks to provide leadership and development for young surgeons active in the care of the injured patient through interdisciplinary collaboration, scholarship and fellowship.
