The Division of Surgical Oncology’s Renata Jaskula-Sztul, Ph.D., was recently awarded a $40,000 Junior Faculty Development Grant for her pilot project, “Pharmacological overexpression of somatostatin receptor type 2 (SSTR2) in neuroendocrine tumors for improved {68Ga]DOTATATE imaging and treatment.”

The project represents a collaboration between Jaskula-Sztul and the Department of Radiology’s Suzanne E. Lapi, Ph.D., and was selected to receive this award by the American Cancer Society’s Institutional Research Grants Internal Review Committee, members of the local ACS chapter and O’Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center Director Michael Birrer, M.D., Ph.D.
