Division of Gastrointestinal Surgery Director Gregory Kennedy, M.D., Ph.D., recently joined the editorial board of the academic journal, Annals of Surgery.
Kennedy was nominated and subsequently approved for the position at the board’s most recent meeting in Washington, D.C., in April.
According to Annals Editor-in-Chief Keith D. Lillemoe, M.D., Kennedy was selected for this role based on his particular area of expertise within the field of surgical research. As a member of the editorial board, Kennedy will be expected to review approximately one to two manuscripts for the journal each month.
Kennedy’s research efforts are generally focused on the chemoprevention of colon and rectal cancer. His laboratory uses genetic models to better understand how chemicals prevent tumor formation and which genetic pathways are responsible for their effects.
