Dr. Babak John Orandi

Fall 2018 Department of Surgery faculty recruit Babak John Orandi, M.D., Ph.D., M.Sc., was recently asked to serve as associate editor of the popular transplant journal, Clinical Transplantation, where he will focus on research related to registry analyses and incompatible kidney transplants. This September, Orandi will join the Division of Transplantation as an assistant professor and will work with Jayme Locke, M.D., on her health services research.

Orandi comes to UAB from the University of California in San Fransisco, where he recently completed an abdominal transplant fellowship. Orandi’s research has largely focused on incompatible kidney transplantation and antibody-mediated rejection.
