Division of Vascular Surgery and Endovascular Therapy Director Adam Beck, M.D., recently accepted an appointment to the American College of Surgeons Advisory Council for Vascular Surgery, a committee of the ACS Board of Regents.

In recent years, the ACS Advisory Council for Vascular Surgery has begun to serve an expanded role within the College as a liaison in the communication of information to and from vascular surgery societies and the Board of Regents, which the College says it considers a crucial responsibility as the practice of surgery is faced with changes and uncertainty in a modern clinical environment.

The committee also advises the Board of Regents on policy matters and policy formations relating to vascular surgery, discusses matters the Advisory Council wishes to present to the Board of Regents or other appropriate ACS departments or committees, nominates fellows from vascular surgery to serve on ACS committees and other committees and organizations, and provides vascular surgery input into the development of general and specialty sessions, including postgraduate courses, for the ACS Clinical Congress.
