Second-year general surgery resident Cozette Kale, M.D., MPH, has been selected to receive a 2019 American College of Surgeons Resident Research Scholarship.

As one of the six recipients of this scholarship, Kale will receive $7,500 on a quarterly basis for two years and will attend the October 2021 ACS Clinical Congress to submit a report on her research, as part of the ACS Scientific Forum. She will also be introduced at the opening ceremony of the Clinical Congress and will receive a certificate at the annual meeting of the ACS Scholarships Committee.

These scholarships are supported by ACS fellows, chapters and friends and seek to encourage residents to pursue careers in academic surgery.
