The UAB Vascular Surgery Fellowship is expanding its resident-dedicated research program, opening up a new clinical spot for another graduating chief resident in general surgery. The position will become available on Aug. 1, 2019, with successful completion of the program expected by July 31, 2021.
A nationally sought-after training program with one of the most diverse case mixes in the country, the UAB Vascular Surgery Fellowship provides extensive training in open aortic reconstruction, advanced fenestrated and branched aortic endografting, endovascular and open carotid revascularization, a dedicated outpatient venous practice and an advanced limb preservation program.
“As a graduate of the UAB Vascular Surgery Fellowship in 2009, I am very proud of the program’s rich history of educational excellence, the rigorous and diverse training curriculum that our fellows experience while here and the outstanding surgeons who continue to graduate from our programs,” said Benjamin Pearce, M.D., the director of the UAB Vascular Surgery Integrated Residency and Fellowship programs. “It has been a privilege to witness the evolution of our residency and fellowship and to see a bright future ahead for both programs.”
Interested candidates will be expected to provide references from their current general surgery program director, as well as a vascular surgeon from within their residency, in addition to their CVs and ABSITE results.
