Associate professors of surgery Jayme Locke, M.D., MPH, and Colin Martin, M.D., will be traveling to Bangkok, Thailand, in May to attend the 2019 “Developing a Career and skills in Academic Surgery Course.”
Locke will present her talk, “How to Keep Academic Balance: Clinical Work, Research, Teaching and Leadership," during the event’s opening session on Monday, May 6, while Martin will discuss the various steps in writing a manuscript during Session 2, “Ensuring Academic Output,” later that morning at 10:50 a.m.
The annual DCAS course is presented by the Association for Academic Surgery in partnership with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons Section of Academic Surgery.
Martin’s involvement in this course follows his participation in the RACS/AAS Younger Fellows Leadership Exchange. He is also expected to give an update on his necrotizing enterocolitis research at the RACS general assembly meeting in Bangkok, Thailand, after DCAS.
