Under the leadership of UAB Professor of Plastic Surgery John Grant, M.D., who is also an active member of ASCS, Myers serves as part of the Cleft and Craniofacial Center at Children’s of Alabama. This year, the center’s cleft team and craniofacial team both received approval from the American Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association, a distinction unique to the center, which is now home to the only ACPCA-approved teams in the state of Alabama.

According to ASCS, the organization’s purposes are to cultivate leaders and advancement in the field of craniofacial surgery; provide opportunities for craniofacial surgeons to meet and exchange knowledge related to their field; to encourage and improve the study, practice and teaching of craniofacial surgery and to recognize and represent the industry’s best craniofacial surgeons by offering them membership within the organization. ASCS offers six classes of membership: active, associate, honorary, inactive, life and resident/fellow.
