General surgery resident Quince Gibson, M.D., was presented with this year’s UAB Emergency Medicine Residency Program Resident Consultant of the Year Award yesterday at the Department of Emergency Medicine’s residency graduation reception at The Florentine.
Gibson was selected for this award in recognition of his commitment and assistance to the physicians and patients in the UAB Department of Emergency Medicine and was honored for his contributions to the department at last night’s reception, alongside this year’s outgoing UAB Emergency Medicine residents and annual departmental award winners.
Adrienne Fowler Payne, MPA, residency and medical student education administrator in the Department of Emergency Medicine, commended Gibson for his dedication in his award letter.
“Managing a high-volume, tertiary care center emergency department regularly involves the utilization of available consultation specialty services and resources. In an environment that is inherently fast-paced and stressful, it is invigorating and appreciated when subspecialty consultants share our interest in patient care and management,” Payne wrote. “Your collegial manner, expertise and, above all, your commitment to our patients is greatly appreciated.”
