UAB general surgery research resident Raoud Marayati, M.D., was recently awarded the Bertram M. Marx Student Research Endowment Travel Award. This award, established by theThis $300 award will go towards Marayati’s attendance at the 2020 Academic Surgical Congress in Orlando, Florida on Feb. 4-6, where she will give her presentation in the Pediatrics Basic Science Session on the role of PIM3 kinase in metastatic hepatoblastoma on Wednesday, Feb. 5.
Marayati’s abstract was one of the top 10 scored abstracts that were selected to compete for the Association of Academic Surgery Outstanding Resident Award. The abstract will also be presented in the AAS Resident/Fellow Competition Quickshot Session on Tuesday, Feb. 4.
