Transplantation Assistant Professor Babak Orandi, M.D., Ph.D., Ms.C., has been invited to join both the American Society of Transplantation (AST) Clinic Scientific Review Committee as well as the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases (AASLD) Surgery and Liver Transplantation Committee.
The purpose of the AST Clinic Scientific Review Committee is to review all clinical research grants submitted to the American Society of Transplantation. Members assist in selecting recipients of the AST Faculty and Fellowship Grants, streamline and improve the AST Grants Program and review process, and promote success of the AST Grants Program through communication initiatives.
The AASLD Surgery and Liver Transplantation Committee develops the educational and scientific programming for the society as it relates to liver transplantation and hepatobiliary surgery, as well as issues guidance and develops guidelines as it relates to these topics. Orandi is honored to participate in these prestigious committees.
