The Division of Breast and Endocrine Surgery is pleased to introduce the 2021-22 Endocrine Surgery Fellow, Andrea Gillis, M.D.

Gillis is currently a chief resident at Albany Medical College in Albany, NY. She completed her medical school training at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. Gillis will graduate Albany Medical College with over 1000 cases of experience, performing 350 cases during her chief resident year alone.

UAB Endocrine Surgery Fellowship Director Brenessa Lindeman, M.D., FACS, is delighted to have Gillis on board for the 2021-2022 academic year.

“Dr. Gillis is a rising star and leader in the field of endocrine surgery,” said Lindeman. “She has accomplished much during her training – even without taking dedicated research time - and we look forward to helping amplify her impact during her time with us.”

Gillis is an avid reader, oboe player and lover of hot sauce. She has been actively involved in endocrine surgery research and the Society of Black Academic Surgeons nationally.
