UAB Department of Surgery faculty Adam Beck, M.D., Timothy King, M.D., Ph.D., and Jayme Locke, M.D., have been promoted to professors, effective October 1, 2020.
Beck joined the Division of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery in 2016. In addition to his professorship, Beck serves as director of the Division of Vascular Surgery and Endovascular Therapy as well as the Holt A. McDowell, Jr., M.D., Endowed Chair in Vascular Surgery and the director of Quality for the UAB Cardiovascular Institute.
In addition to his professorship with the Department of Surgery, King is an associate professor of Biomedical Engineering. He also serves as director of research in the Division of Plastic Surgery, associate program director of the Plastic Surgery Residency, and chief of plastic surgery at the Birmingham VA Medical Center. King joined the Division of Plastic Surgery in 2016.
Locke holds the Mark H. Deierhoi Endowed Professorship in Surgery, and she serves as the director of the Division of Transplantation. She is also the director of the Incompatible Kidney Transplant Program as well as Transplant Analytics, Informatics & Quality. Finally, Locke is the director of the UAB Comprehensive Transplant Institute. Locke joined the Division of Transplantation in 2012.
