Division of Gastrointestinal Surgery fundraising efforts are underway for their 2021 Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation (CCF) Take Steps walk team “Operation Deep Remission.”

Last year, the walk was completely virtual, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. But, this year, there is a drive through element at Sloss Furnace on May 1, beginning at 9:30 a.m.

Before the walk, teams work together to raise funds for the CCF, who has been a leader in inflammatory bowel disease research since their founding more than 50 years ago. On walk day, participants can engage virtually, or in-person, with their team.

Take Steps has brought together more than 430,000 people and raised over $107 million to help further the Foundation's mission. The money raised goes towards breakthrough research, public and professional education, and patient support services in communities across the nation.
