The Department of Surgery welcomes its new communications specialist this month, Allie Hulcher. Prior to this position, Hulcher worked at Girl Scouts of North-Central Alabama as a communications manager.

Hulcher will join Communications Director, Marissa Keppley, MBA, and Communications Specialist Emma Harchanko in the Department of Surgery Communications Office, where she will support the Division of Trauma and Acute Care Surgery.

Originally from Huntsville, Alabama, Hulcher earned her bachelor’s degrees in journalism and English at the University of Alabama. In her previous role, she was responsible for telling the stories of Girl Scouts through media relations, social media, photography, print publications, and other mediums and for supporting recruitment and development. Her experience also includes in-hospital newborn photography and news reporting.
