The Department of Surgery has selected Office Administrator II Kaycee Hair to serve as staff wellness champion through the UAB School of Medicine (SOM) Office of Wellness.
Hair will work alongside Chief Wellness Officer Brenessa Lindeman, M.D, MEHP, FACS, to support the department as it works to meet the emotional, physical, and spiritual needs of all staff. Surveys have shown that when an individual's mind, body, and spirit are healthy, they are happier, more productive, and compassionate towards others.
The SOM staff wellness champions are nominated for the role and signify an essential link between the Office of Wellness and the departments.
“I am elated to represent the Department of Surgery in this capacity,” said Hair. “I am looking forward to representing the unique interests of our staff and assisting in developing key resources to better the wellness of the department. I am very passionate about promoting wellness, self-care, and personal growth and I am excited to work alongside the other champions who share my same passions.”
Hair will join other department wellness champions, like Lindeman, in monthly meetings to discuss ideas and share suggestions.
