The UAB Department of Surgery is pleased to open Junior Faculty Exchange Program selection for the 2022-2023 academic year.

The exchange program involves a reciprocal exchange of assistant and associate-level faculty from UAB and several intuitions during the summer of an academic year.

The program was created to build an academic relationship between the participating surgical departments and to provide a mechanism for junior faculty to disseminate their research, expand their networks and learn from other leaders and experts outside of their home institution.

This year, the prestigious program includes a reciprocal exchange of a Department of Surgery assistant professor-level faculty from UAB and the following institutions:

• University of California-Davis
• University of Michigan 

Also, these programs are open to associate-level faculty:

• University of California-Davis
• University of Florida 

We recommend you to submit nominations or self-nominations for any of the four open opportunities. Please email Adam Beck, M.D., your current CV, and a concise description of your goals that you would like to achieve during your visit by Apr. 29. Please clearly state your preferred choice of the four options.

A committee of department leadership will select the 2022-2023 UAB Surgery representative, which will be notified shortly after selection. A formal announcement will be made with each named representative and the partner institution representative, once decided.
