The UAB Cardiovascular Institute (CVI) has released its 2022 Annual Report for patients, providers, and the public to review.

The CIV was established in 2019 to provide organization for cardiovascular service delivery across UAB Medicine. Among the largest cardiovascular centers in the country, the CVI aligns the clinical specialties of cardiology, cardiac surgery, vascular surgery, and cardiothoracic anesthesia to deliver optimal patient care.

The program is consistently listed among the top 50 centers for cardiology and heart surgery by U.S. News & World Report, and it is at the forefront of advances in the treatment of cardiovascular disease.

This year, the CVI notes one of its top distinctions was earning certification as a Primary Heart Attack Center by the Joint Commission. They also share that outcomes have been sustained amidst the COVID-19 pandemic and that the CVI continues to experience tremendous growth.
