UAB Research Resident Katherine McElroy, M.D., was named a recipient of the Americas Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association (AHPBA) 2021 URM Travel Grant.
The travel grant will fund McElroy’s attendance at the 15th annual IHPBA 2022 World Congress in New York. She will be recognized at the AHPBA Recognition Award Session of the IHPBA 2022 World Congress, on Friday, April 1.
The grading committee notes that they were impressed by McElroy’s dedication to HPB Surgery and are looking forward to her continued engagement within AHPBA.
“I’m looking forward to attending the 2022 IHPBA World Conference,” said McElroy. “It’s an honor to represent UAB Surgery at the international meeting.”
The AHPBA was founded in 1994 to advance HPB care to improve patient lives. Membership now exceeds 1,000 members, who gather annually to share in educational experiences and camaraderie unique to AHPBA. The organization is focused on diversity, outreach efforts, education and training, innovation and research to advance HPB care to improve patient lives.
