UAB Locke Lab member Brittany Shelton, MPH, was awarded the Outstanding Ph.D. Student Award from the UAB School of Public Health.
Shelton was recognized among other awardees across UAB by Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost Pam Benoit as a 2022 Honors Convocation Awardee for spring graduation.
Each year, UAB recognizes students for outstanding scholastic achievement, leadership and service to the school and community at the ceremony. Schools and divisions at UAB submit names of students to be honored.
Shelton, who is a doctoral student, successfully defended her dissertation "Access to the Kidney Transplant Waitlist for People living with HIV" and will graduate at the end of April with her Dr.PH. in healthcare organization and policy from the UAB Graduate School of Public Health.
“I am honored to be recognized by the School of Public Health an outstanding doctoral student,” said Shelton. “I am grateful to all of my mentors in the UAB Locke Lab and across the UAB Division of Transplantation and the Comprehensive Transplant Institute.”
