UAB General Surgery Resident Mallory Perez, M.D., was awarded the 2022 Society of University Surgeons (SUS) Resident and Fellow Presentation Award.

As a recipient of this honorable award, Perez will present her research at the upcoming Surgical Research Society (SRS) Annual meeting on Mar. 22-24, 2023 in Nottingham, England. 

The SUS was established in 1938 as a surgical society whose members had completed a rigorous training program and held a faculty position at a United States medical school. Over the years, the SUS has continually grown in size and stature, and is now recognized as the world’s premier organization dedicated to the advancement of the surgical sciences.

Perez is honored to have the opportunity to represent UAB on this international stage.

“It’s an honor to receive the SUS presentation award and attend the SRS meeting,” Perez said. “SUS is an incredible organization to be a part of, and I am looking forward to representing UAB in the UK.”
