UAB Division of Breast and Endocrine Surgery Assistant Professor and Global Surgery Associate Vice Chair Lily Gutnik, M.D., has been selected to speak at the Virtual Research Forum held by the Mary Heersink Institute for Global Health (MHIGH) where Pilot Project grantees will be recognized.
MHIGH implemented the program to encourage collaboration between researchers and international partners to address threats to global health.
As associate vice chair of global surgery, Gutnik pursues developing efforts in global arenas and facilitates educational expansion for surgical trainees.
Gutnik also holds a Master's in Public Health from Harvard University. Gutnik is passionate about health services research that revolves around the impact of breast cancer screening and early detection in low-resource settings. Gutnik serves the MHIGH as an institute partner for sub-Saharan Africa, working on global health service, research and educational work in the region.
