UAB Surgery Administrative Director Marissa Keppley, MBA, recently presented on the impact of AI-informed communications at the Association of Academic Surgical Administrators (AASA) 2023 Mid-Year Retreat.

In her presentation, Keppley reviewed best practice guidelines for utilizing tools like ChatGPT as a supplemental resource to inform daily practices and administrative tasks.

"In this uncharted frontier, establishing clear guidelines that inform accurate and ethical communication is our foremost priority," says Keppley. "Having this opportunity to engage in dialogue with colleagues across the country helps us to shape policies that will enable us all to succeed."

Keppley, who has served as the department's communications director since 2019, forged the first national CME podcast in the healthcare space.
