Amber Lemon, MS, BSN, RN, a nurse supervisor in the UAB Division of Vascular Surgery, has been chosen for the 2024 Clinical Excellence Leadership in Nursing Award.
Amber Lemon's journey in nursing began at Bevill State Community College, where she earned an associate degree of science in nursing. Continuing her training, she received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and her master’s degree from UAB.

Recognized for her exceptional skills and leadership, Lemon was nominated as a nurse supervisor for the UAB Division of Vascular Surgery in 2019. In this role, she has been instrumental in coordinating clinical coverage, participating in numerous patient outcome initiatives, contributing to research trials, and overseeing the office clinical staff.
An advocate for her patients and surgical best practices, Lemon was also elected to represent the SICU (Surgical Intensive Care Unit) in the Nursing Practice Congress.
"Working with the Division of Vascular Surgery has been a great opportunity for growth in my leadership journey as a nurse supervisor at UAB. It is truly an amazing experience to witness all that we can accomplish together in the treatment of our patients," says Lemon.
