Two members of Associate Professor of Surgery Jayme Locke’s lab have received Young Investigator Awards for the upcoming American Transplant Congress in Chicago, Illinois, April 29 – May 3.
These lab members, Brittany Shelton, M.P.H., and Rhiannon Deierhoi Reed, M.P.H., are both analysts working in the Comprehensive Transplant Institute Outcomes Research Center, as well as third-year students in the Doctor of Public Health Outcomes research track in the UAB School of Public Health. Reed’s abstract, “State Population Health and Center-Level Variation in Rate of Living Kidney Donation,” and Shelton’s abstract, “Stable Deceased Donor Transplantation Rates Among Pediatric Candidates Post-KAS Implementation,” were selected for oral presentations, in addition to the Young Investigator Awards.
