The UAB Department of Surgery and the Division of Orthopaedic Surgery would like to welcome two new faculty members, Elie Ghanem, M.D., and Sameer M. Naranje, M.D., M.R.C.S.

Ghanem is an assistant professor whose clinical interests include anterior and posterior total hip arthroplasty and gap balancing techniques for total knee replacements. His main research interests are outcomes after primary and revision joint replacements with emphasis on joint infections in the fields of diagnostics and treatment. Ghanem began at UAB this spring.

Naranje is an assistant professor whose clinical interests include adult hip and knee disorders, arthritis and fracture care. He specializes in hip and knee surgery including total hip and knee replacement, partial knee replacement and revision hip and knee replacement. Naranje began at UAB last fall.
