Although my particular area of interest is in aortic pathology, UAB has unparalleled exposure to all aspects of complex vascular disease with experts in all areas. Caring for patients in the deep south, where vascular disease is unquestionably the most prevalent, is gratifying as these patients represent a truly overlooked and undertreated population.

In addition to clinical excellence, UAB has given me opportunities to pursue dedicated research while obtaining an advanced degree in biostatistics. Research residents at UAB have the all of the financial and resource support needed to pursue any avenue of clinical interest.

The faculty at UAB provide excellent mentorship to support both our professional and personal growth. The team at UAB understands that we are building a life, not just a career, and foster a family friendly and welcoming environment.

The biggest strength of the program is undoubtably my co-residents. There is no other group of people that I would rather work and learn alongside. Every resident has a love for UAB, our patients, and our team.
