Cooper Green Mercy Health, an affiliate of the University of Alabama at Birmingham Health System, is making a change that will help nearly 3,000 enrolled patients save money on their prescription drugs.

Effective Oct. 1, Cooper Green will no longer charge enrolled patients whose enrollment status qualifies them to be covered by the indigent care fund for generic prescription medication, in addition to significant reduction in brand name medication pricing.

Recently enrolled patients at Cooper Green can now easily find their health plan code printed directly on their issued cards. Patients with a health plan code A through E qualify for the new savings. There are no restrictions to quantity or frequency of prescriptions covered. Cooper Green will refill prescriptions within one week of the patient’s running out of the medication.

If you have questions or need further assistance, please contact Cooper Green’s enrollment office at 205-930-3777, where an enrollment specialist will be available to assist.
