UAB’s Alys Stephens Center presents “Downton Abbey” premiere

Be the first to see the fifth season-opening episode of “Downton Abbey” presented Dec. 14, by UAB’s Alys Stephens Center.

downtown abbey webSee the premiere of the fifth season of “Downton Abbey” first when the University of Alabama at Birmingham’s Alys Stephens Performing Arts Center presents an afternoon showing.

The one-hour, season-opening episode will be shown at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 14, three weeks before its Alabama Public Television premiere on Jan. 4, 2015.

This event is free and open to the public. Alys Stephens Center members will be able to reserve premium seating. To reserve seats or check the status of a membership, contact Erica Miller in the ASC Development Office at emmiller@uab.edu or 205-975-4012 no later than 3 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 10. Check in no later than 2:45 p.m. on the day of the screening to receive a reserved pass. If a pass is not picked up, the seats will be released.

“Downton Abbey,” the international hit series from writer and creator Julian Fellowes, is set to return with more dark secrets, budding romances and dramatic turns. See new characters, fan favorites, suitors and the show’s growing fourth generation: little Sybbie and the heir himself, George.
