The University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Nursing will host its third Young Breast Cancer Survivors Network Workshop from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 18, at The Worship Center Huffman-Derby, located at 100 Derby Parkway, Birmingham.
Workshop activities are designed to help improve the quality of life for young breast cancer survivors and their loved ones through education, personal support and networking.
Sessions for survivors include presentations on families and relationships, breast cancer risk and genetics, and discussion groups. Men who attend will have a breakout session that includes information on supporting their loved one.
In addition, Lori Hanna, certified Shake Your Soul yoga dance instructor, will offer an interactive exercise session for attendees.

The YBCSN is an initiative of the UAB School of Nursing supported by the Women’s Breast Health Fund of the Community Foundation of Greater Birmingham. It focuses on improving the quality of life of young breast cancer survivors and their loved ones through education, support and networking.
