University of Alabama at Birmingham’s Bloom Studio and Digital Media have been invited to be the agency of record for the 2016 Birmingham American Advertising Awards.
TheThe students are very excited to participate and are working on collateral material and branding for next year’s event, says Rosie O’Beirne, director of Digital Media.
The American Advertising Awards, formerly the ADDYs, are the advertising industry’s largest and most representative competition, attracting more than 40,000 entries nationally every year in local American Advertising Federation Club competitions. The mission of the American Advertising Awards competition is to recognize and reward the creative spirit of excellence in the art of advertising. This year, the Birmingham chapter wants to celebrate the upward trajectory of the City of Birmingham, the city’s advertising community, and the rich talent pool of aspiring creative professionals that the city’s college and university students represent. This year’s creative theme is “Level Up.”
“One of the chief initiatives of AAF Birmingham this year is to recognize and celebrate the amazing student talent found in our area,” said George Griswold, AAF Birmingham president. “They are the future not only of our club but of our industry as a whole. The work being done by our friends at UAB is a terrific model for mentoring and developing future advertising professionals.”
