UAB part of Partners in Parkinson’s event

UAB joins with leading Parkinson’s disease organizations for a Birmingham conference.

partners in parkinsonsPhysicians, researchers and educators from the University of Alabama at Birmingham will join with national partners for an informative conference on dealing with Parkinson’s disease, Saturday, March 19, at the Cahaba Grand Conference Center. The event is free and open to the public. Breakfast and lunch are provided and registration is encouraged. Go to partnersinparkinsons.org for more information and to register.

Partners in Parkinson’s is a daylong event, from 8 a.m. to 2:30. Presentations include updates on clinical care, the latest in research gains, family support and caregiving, strategies for living with Parkinson’s, and small group question-and-answer sessions.

A resource fair will provide information on local resources, community organizations and exercise opportunities for Parkinson’s patients.

Partners in Parkinson’s was developed by The Michael J. Fox Foundation and AbbVie. The initiative's 2016 events are in collaboration with national participating partners: the Davis Phinney Foundation, The Parkinson's Action Network, The Parkinson's Disease Foundation, The American Parkinson Disease Association and Parkinson Voice Project. The Birmingham Partners in Parkinson's event features the collaboration of local presenting partner the Parkinson Association of Alabama.
