The University of Alabama at Birmingham National Alumni Society will present its annual Uncork Education scholarship fundraiser at 6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 6, at the UAB National Alumni Society House.
In 2015, participants from the silent auction were able to help the NAS raise more than $48,000 for UAB scholarships and grants.
This event will feature a tasting with wines from around the globe and beer from the UAB alumni-owned Cahaba Brewing Co. Guests who attend this event will have a chance to purchase a key to a stocked bar, the 2016 Blazer Wine and other gifts in the silent auction. Hors d’oeuvres will be served.
This year’s silent auction includes:
- Dinner for two with Noah Galloway and a signed copy of his new book
- A UAB Men’s Basketball experience that includes attending practice and dinner with team, being a part of the locker room before, during and after the game, and sitting with the team during the game
- Shovel and hardhat from the UAB Football Operations Facility/Legacy Pavilion ground breaking, attending a closed practice, and dinner with the team the night before the first game in 2017
- Conference USA Basketball Tournament tickets
- A boxing glove signed by boxing great Muhammad Ali
- Sheet music signed by the superstar Adele and the late Whitney Houston
- A 6-foot-tall silver dragon sculpture
- Opportunities for commissioned artwork from three different local artists
