University of Alabama at Birmingham Comprehensive Cancer Center, will host Frankly Speaking About Lung Cancer, a free workshop for people affected by lung cancer.
November is Lung Cancer Awareness Month, and the American Lung Association in Alabama, with support from theMollie deShazo, M.D., associate professor in the UAB Division of Hematology and Oncology, will provide fundamental information about current lung cancer treatments, strategies for symptom/side-effect management, and tools for survivorship. The event will be held Monday, Nov. 7, from 6-8 p.m. at the UAB Comprehensive Cancer Center, Wallace Tumor Institute, Training Room on ground floor, Room 101, 1824 Sixth Ave. South, Birmingham, AL 35233.
The workshop will streamline crucial resources for patients and include a complimentary copy of the booklet Frankly Speaking About Lung Cancer, created by Cancer Support Community. Dinner will be served.
