Looking for somewhere fun to bring your child when school is out of session but you still have to work? Register children ages 5-12 for Columbus Day Camp, happening Oct. 8 in the University of Alabama at Birmingham’s Campus Recreation Center.
Day camps are designed for parents who have to work while their children are not in school. The Columbus Day Camp is a one-day program offering many of the same great activities as the summer camp, such as swimming, rock climbing, arts, crafts and more. Children will have the opportunity to explore a variety of activities — everything UAB Campus Recreation has to offer under one roof. Day Camps run from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. with additional before and after care options. Snacks are provided, but campers need to provide their own lunch. The cost is $40 for UAB affiliates and $50 for non-UAB affiliates.
Enrollment for Columbus Day Camp will close Oct. 1 at 5 p.m. All other fall day camps will remain open until a week prior to the specific camp day. Email recmember@uab.edu or call 205-996-5038 for information, or register online by Oct. 1. A list of future day camps is online.
