The University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Health Professions is inviting community members to dodge, duck, dip and dive as a part of Dodging for Degrees on Oct. 14.
Dodging for Degrees is a fast-paced dodge ball tournament designed to bring the people of Birmingham together for a friendly competition to benefit the school’s Junior Advisory Board Scholarship program that helps young alumni better establish themselves in a competitive workforce. Funds raised support the board’s endowed scholarship award. This scholarship is awarded to graduating School of Health Professions students to help with the costs associated with launching a career, including professional membership fees, licensing exam fees and interview expenses.
For the first time, the school is offering a “Don’t Get Hit!” special for those who want to support scholarships but don’t want to participate in the competition. To take advantage of this first-ever special offer, visit the Scholarship Fundraising Webpage and make a donation today.
This event is open to any individual, company or organization that wants to create a team. The tournament begins at 4 p.m. and will be held at the UAB Campus Recreation Center.
