Seventh annual DSS Wheelchair Flag Football game to be held Oct. 16

Students and staff from UAB will compete against athletes from the Lakeshore Foundation in the seventh annual Wheelchair Flag Football game.

wheelchair flagDisability Support Services at the University of Alabama at Birmingham will host the annual Wheelchair Flag Football game against the Lakeshore Foundation on Tuesday, Oct. 16. This will be the seventh year the two teams have played against each other.

The event is meant to also mark Disability Awareness Month and celebrate the different types of communities and cultures in Birmingham and UAB.

UAB students and staff members will compete against Lakeshore’s team. There will also be free pizza and cookies, as well as raffles for ticket giveaways to the McWane Center and to Birmingham Barons games.

The game will start at 6 p.m. on Courts 1 and 2 in the Campus Recreation Center, located at 1501 University Blvd.
