An ensemble born from collaboration in the Department of Music will perform a concert at UAB as part of the Birmingham Art Music Alliance season.

UAB students, faculty and staff and the community are invited to boogie down for a good cause when Dance Marathon kicks off at 7 p.m. April 19.

The master class April 15 with Indian slide guitar master Pandit Vishwa Mohan Bhatt and ethnic percussionist Pandit Subhen Chatterjee is open to the public.

The UAB Percussion Ensemble and marimba artist Michael Burritt will perform with area high school all-star musicians in a free public concert.

The Drum Major for Justice Award is given to people who carry on the philosophy, vision and mission of the late Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.
