The Center for Palliative and Supportive Care at the University of Alabama at Birmingham is offering Forging the Future of Palliative Care – Virtual Summit 2020, Nov. 16- 20. The virtual event will offer personalized, innovative and expert content in the field of palliative medicine.
The summit will connect clinicians, educators, researchers and administrators dedicated to the field of palliative medicine in the Southeast. Topics will include evidence-based practice, strategies to reduce health disparities and effective cultural communication.
Registration is available here. Costs range between $125 - $150 for the week-long summit.
An additional workshop titled Culturally Concordant Communication and Care for African American Patients with Serious Illness: A Training Program Created by the African American Community for Clinicians will also be available.
Course content will be available for 30 days after the summit and registered attendees will be able to access any content missed during the week. Continuing education units and medical education units will be available. The conference is presented by the Center for Palliative and Supportive Care, UAB Medicine Palliative and Supportive Care, the UAB School of Medicine and the UAB School of Nursing.
