UAB's Arnett named scientific leader at American Heart Association affiliate

Donna Arnett, Ph.D., professor and chair of epidemiology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Public Health, has been elected leading scientific officer for the American Heart Association's Greater Southeast Affiliate. Arnett will work to help the organization achieve its 2020 goal to improve the cardiovascular health of all Americans by 20 percent while reducing deaths from cardiovascular diseases and stroke by 20 percent. The affiliate encompasses Puerto Rico, Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana.
